Mechanical engineering and analyses

Fjell Industries has a multidisciplinary team of highly experienced engineers and technicians. By using the most advanced software we perform different projects in mechanical engineering.

We perform a wide variety of mechanical engineering projects, from small and simple to large and complex projects. The most important areas are:

• Pressure containing equipment like pressure vessels, shell and tube heat exchangers, driers and evaporators. We have more than 40 years experience with this
• Calculation and analysis of lifting equipments according to EUs Machinery Directive, NS 5514 Cranes and lifting equipment and other standards. We perform testing in our own workshop
• Analysis of skids, frames, truss work and other structures for customers in both oil and gas and other industries. The analyses can be two- or three-dimensional and be performed according to NS 3472, NORSOK, Eurocodes and other standards.
• Design and analysis of piping systems and piping components
• Design and analysis of buildings for wind, snow and other loads. Code check is performed according to the new Eurocodes, primarily EN 1993 for steel, but also the other codes from 1990 to 1999. We also work according to NS 3472 for steel structures, NS 3470 for wood and NS 3473 for concrete.
• Foundation calculations for buildings and equipment.
• Fitness for service evaluation of equipment, piping etc.
• The projects can include several activities:

Health, Environment and Safety, quality assurance (QA) and documentation is very important to many of our customers. This is highly focused in the oil and gas industry but also important in other industries. We have a strong focus on these issues, both in our own business and in customer projects.
